Indigenous community justice Counsellor
 Hourly rate of $36.29 to $46.95, depending on experience.
 Reimbursement of professional dues.
 Temporary (1 year) full-time position (35 hours per week).

RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent develops an Indigenous community justice model and implements measures that reflect this model.
 
Concretely, your main challenges will be to : 

  •  Organize information sessions on the laws, regulations, and components of the justice system.
  •  Hold legal information clinics at the various locations owned by the VDNFC.
  •  Provide ad hoc training and advice on justice issues to VDNFC and external social worker.
  •  Develop and implement alternative measures plans.
  •  Collaborate with the service manager in maintaining relationships with partners.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
Your profile 
  • Hold a university’s degree in law, criminology or equivalent, combined with 2 to 5 years of work experience in a similar field.
  • Work experience and-or knowledge related to the reality and issues in the Indigenous environment.
  • Great knowledge of Office’s software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Accurate and complete knowledge of criminal justice and the workings of the judicial system.
  • Very good knowledge of French and English.
