COMMUNITY ORGANIZER
Full time - permanent position (35 hours/week)
RESPONSIBILITY
The Val-d’Or Native Friendship Centre is a hub of urban services, a living environment and a cultural anchor for the First Peoples, fostering harmonious cohabitation in its community. Rooted in human values of inclusion, solidarity, equity and justice, the Centre shares this vision of a fairer society, which makes way for diversity, without discrimination.

YOUR BIG CHALLENGES
  • As a multidisciplinary team, participate in the development of a renewed service offering through a dynamic and evolving workplace.
  • Analyze the information collected, identify priorities, and develop a schedule of activities. 
  • Plan, organize and host specific activities for community members in accordance with service’s objectives. 
  • Participate in the creation of support groups, workshops, discussion circles and other community and social programs.
  • Build a relationship based on trust with members.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
Your profile 
  •  Hold a college degree in social work or equivalent, combined with 6 months to 1 year of work experience in a similar field or 6 years of work experience as an equivalent.
  •  Have work experience and/or knowledge related to the reality of First Nations communities.
  •  General knowledge of clinical professional standards and practices.
  •  Master Office suite software.
  •  Good knowledge of French and English.
