Day camp animator

Under the responsibility of the director of community development, the animator is in charge of planning, organising and coordinating activities for 5 to 12-year-old Aboriginal children in Val-d’Or. He or she encourages participation by organising cultural, recreational and sports activities during the summer. The animator can also be asked to conduct activities on the prevention of racism, violence, substance and alcohol abuse. 


Your challenges
  • Ensure the safety and respect of children under his or her responsibility at all times;   
  • Demonstrate dynamism in group animations;  
  • Plan and organise creative activities;
  • Share responsibilities with day camp co-workers; 
  • Ensure the safe conduct of animation activities.

Your profile
  • Be 15 years old at the start of employment 
  • Love working with children;
  • Be Aboriginal and/or work experience with Aboriginal clientele; 
  • Have good activity planning and organising skills;
  • Be bilingual;
  • Be dynamic, self-reliant and responsible;
