Head Chef
 Hourly rate of $24.03 to $31.09, depending on experience.
Permanent full-time position (35 hours per week).

RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent plans, coordinates, and participates in task related to meal preparation, cooking, and customer service for members of the Val-d’Or Indigenous Friendship Centre’s food services.


 Concretely, your main challenges will be to : 
  • Plan the schedules of kitchen team members and supervise their work.
  • Develop attractive healthily balanced menus.
  • Standardize recipes, ensure the quality of meals served, and optimize the use of foodstuffs.
  • Keep the kitchen inventory up to date, determine food requirements, and order those needed to produce menus.



 
REQUIREMENTS
 
Your profile 
  • Vocational’s Degree in professional cooking, combined with 2 to 5 year of work experience in a similar field.
  • Work experience and-or knowledge related to the reality and issues in the Indigenous environment.
  • Great knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good knowledge of French and English.
